Healthmail, a secure clinical email, is a service that allows health care providers to send and receive clinical patient information in a secure manner.

The initial implementation of Healthmail is for general practitioners (GPs) and their support staff.

GPs will be issued with @healthmail.ie email accounts and this will allow them to communicate
patient identifiable clinical information with clinicians in primary and secondary care who use Health Service Executive (HSE) or Voluntary Hospital email addresses.

Healthmail is a service of the HSE and is supported by the Department of Health and the Irish College of General Practitioners. Healthmail is configured to be easy to use and will improve electronic communication for the benefit of patients and clinicians.
